NIAMH MCPHILLIPS

Originally from Co. Monaghan Niamh lives in Dublin and is 5′ 5″ tall (165cm).

April 3rd to 21st will see her in full-time rehearsals for HEAR MY VOICE, a new show for young audiences which will run in Sligo’s Hawk’s Well Theatre from April 26th to 30th inc.

February saw Niamh perform in two productions in this year’s Scene & Heard Festival both in the main space in Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre. Prior to that she performed in Smashing Time’s GATHERING AT THE POND which ran in the Lexicon in Dun Laoghaire.

Last year Niamh played ‘Inga Ingram’ in LOOKING AT THE SUN by Emily Bohannon which ran in the main space in Smock Alley before running in the main space in The Civic. She also performed in visual artist Lisa Freeman’s site-specific outdoor performance of SLIPPED, FELL AND SMACKED MY FACE OFF THE DANCE FLOOR in Bray which was programmed by the Mermaid Arts Centre.

A passionate dancer and mover Niamh also collaborated on CoisCéim Broadreach’s project: BUILDING SPACES OF POSSIBILITY which saw her work with choreographer Muirne Bloomer.

Screen acting wise Niamh plays ‘Kelly’ in the short film PILE UP written by Joshua Donoghue and directed by Ethan Donoghue.

While studying at TU Dublin Conservatoire Of Music and Drama’s from where she graduated with a BA in Drama (Performance), she performed in several productions. Her final year production was Carly Churchill’s play of LOVE AND INFORMATION directed by Ronan Phelan which was livestreamed.
Outside of college Niamh has worked in several different forms of drama such as Dance, Audio and Opera. She is an alumni of Monaghan Youth Theatre.
