RICHARD MCWILLIAMS
Richard is an Irish actor based in Dublin. He’s 5′ 10″ (179cm) tall.
Richard plays the lead role in Western Front Studios new short film “THEY CAN’T KNOW ABOUT ME”, a powerful film which explores the dilemmas we can put ourselves in when we try to live two lives at once and deceive those closest to us in the process. The film has premiered at the prestigious Roze Filmdagen in Amsterdam where it was nominated for Best Short, and Richard receiving a nomination nod for Best Actor.
Having graduated from Dublin’s Gaiety School of Acting back in 2010 Richard has over a decade’s worth of experience across theatre, television and film.
His screen credits aslo include indie filmmaker John Lyde’s cult Sci-fi “SHADOW CABAL”, ‘Michael O Brien’ in RTE Television’s soap drama “FAIR CITY”, ‘Aethelbald’ in History Channel’s hit show “VIKINGS”, the lead role of ‘William’ in Hallmark’s film “LOVES PORTRAIT” which was released on Hallmarks online streaming service and was one of their most popular downloads.
On stage Richard has appeared in Shakespeare’s greatest farces “THE COMEDY OF ERRORS” as well as the Bards darkest tragedies, taking on the gloomy Dane in a Smock Alley Theatre production of “HAMLET” and as the eponymous role in “Richard III”. Apart from the classics Richard has most recently appeared in “DOING TIME”, a prison drama and dark comedy giving a glimpse into the lives of four inmates, their trials & tribulations, and bids for redemption. The play began life at the beloved Moat Theatre in Naas, Co Kildare, before transferring for a successful run of shows in Dublin.
