KAREN KELLY
Karen is an Irish actress based in Dublin, and is 5′ 1″ (154cms) tall.
Karen is in full-time rehearsals to play ‘Goneril’ in Shakespeare’s “KING LEAR” which will run in The Mill Theatre in Dundrum from 23rd September to 23rd October 2024 inc. Geoff O’Keeffe will direct. Karen has previously performed in Mill Productions staging of “THE MERCHANT OF VENICE”, “MACBETH”, and “SLEEPING BEAUTY”.
Screen acting wise Karen stars as ‘Lill’ in the award winning web series “JILL AND LILL”.
Her screen credits ‘Jill’ in the feature film “WHO WE LOVE” directed by Graham Cantwell, ‘May’ in the short film “FIVE LETTERS TO THE STRANGER WHO WILL DISSECT MY BRAIN” directed by Oonagh Kearney, ‘Laura’ in “SOCIALLY DISTANT” (RTE) written and directed by James Cotter, and ‘Lisa’ director Sinéad O’Loughlin’s short “MAKE UP”.
While studying at The Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art BA, from where she graduated with First Class Honours, she played ‘Mabel’ in “DISTINGUISHED VILLA”, ‘Olga’ in “THREE SISTERS”, ‘Rachael’ in “APPROPRIATE”, ‘Mistress Overdone’/’Mariana’ in “MEASURE FOR MEASURE”, ‘Celia’ in “AS YOU LIKE IT”, ‘Katie Roche’ in “KATIE ROCHE”, ‘Mrs. Soames’ in “OUR TOWN”, and ‘Hecuba’/’Astynax’ in “TROJAN WOMEN”.
Karen is an avid singer, she has a special interest in opera and musical theatre. She is also a trained baton twirler and throughout her teens won many titles.
She is also a graduate of The Programme in The Bow Street Screen Acting Academy.
