KAREN KELLY

Karen is an Irish actress based in Dublin, and is 5′ 1″ (154cms) tall.

Karen is cast to perform in ALLTA Theatre Company’s staging of “PRE-OPS” which will run in The Mick Lally Theatre in Galway on May 8th and 9th as part of this year’s Galway Theatre Festival. The play is writer and will be directed by Ezra Maloney.

Karen’s screen credits include ‘Lill’ in the award winning web series “JILL AND LILL”, “FIVE LETTERS TO THE STRANGER WHO WILL DISSECT MY BRAIN” directed by Oonagh Kearney, the feature film “WHO WE LOVE” directed by Graham Cantwell, ‘Laura’ in “SOCIALLY DISTANT” written and directed by James Cotter, and the short film “MAKE UP” directed by Sinéad O’Loughlin.

Karen performed in Shakespeare’s “KING LEAR”, “THE MERCHANT OF VENICE”, and “MACBETH” which ran in The Mill Theatre in Dundrum.

An avid singer, Karen has a special interest in opera and musical theatre. She is also a trained baton twirler and throughout her teens won many titles.

While studying at The Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art BA, from where she graduated with First Class Honours, Karen played ‘Mabel’ in “DISTINGUISHED VILLA”, ‘Olga’ in “THREE SISTERS”, ‘Rachael’ in “APPROPRIATE”, ‘Mistress Overdone’/’Mariana’ in “MEASURE FOR MEASURE”, ‘Celia’ in “AS YOU LIKE IT”, ‘Katie Roche’ in “KATIE ROCHE”, ‘Mrs. Soames’ in “OUR TOWN”, and ‘Hecuba’/’Astynax’ in “TROJAN WOMEN”.

She is also a graduate of the 1-year full-time Screen Acting Program in Bow Street Academy.
